Quilt Shows in New York

While quilt shows in New York are the main attraction, the state has much to offer for the after-quilt-show hours. If you are in the city, there are the operas, the Broadway shows, the shopping, the museums and, for sports afficionados, the Yankees and the Mets.

But there is also another side to the lure of New York. There are the mountains and water sights of the Finger Lakes and 1,000 lakes regions, with hiking, fishing, and boating available and a NASCAR track in Watkins Glen. There is the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, the Buffalo Bills (in Buffalo, of course), and a NASCAR track in Watkins Glen. There are small country stores to visit (especially the quilt shops) and The Windmill to explore.

And speaking of windmills, check out the windmill farm atop the mountains visible as you travel south along the western shore of Canandaigua Lake and then south through Naples!
